Holly Berry Cake

First up, my Holly Berry Cake. As you know, I don’t typically use fondant on my cakes. However, I like to make exceptions for small decor items like I did with my Halloween Cat Cake and this easy-to-make Holly Berry Cake.

Because I never plan to eat any of the fondant, I always get pre-made fondant. I really loved this crimson red color by Wilton. It comes in a small, airtight container and is all set to go from the minute you open it. I just spent a couple of minutes swirling these little berries in my hands and then attached them to the cake with toothpicks. I also used Wilton’s number 124 tip to create the leaves with my classic vanilla buttercream.

Here’s a quick look at how this cake came together.

Buttercream Trees

Inspired by my Rainbow Cake I created for St. Patrick’s Day, I used a similar piping method and designed Evergreen Trees for this next cake. And per usual, I used my favorite Wilton tip, the 1M. To create some dimension in the leaves, I used several colors from Wilton’s Color Right Food Coloring System.

For the trunks, I used chocolate. Piped buttercream would also work great. Here’s another video to show you just how easy this look is to achieve.

Festive Buttercream

For my third cake, I kept it super simple. I combined dark green, light green, and red jimmies in my buttercream and simply applied the buttercream like I would any other cake. After smoothing the sides and finishing the top, I used the Wilton 1M tip to pipe ruffles around the top and bottom.
