My Top 6 Favorite Christmas Cakes

I LOVE Christmas time. I love how magical everything becomes and of course I love all the Christmas desserts–especially cake. I’ve had a lot of fun inventing different Christmas flavored cakes, and I put together my top 6 favorite Christmas cakes I think you’ll love!

These cakes ooze with Christmas flavors and decoration that will make you want to take it all in before you cut that first slice. I picked a good variety, but all embrace a different flavor of the season that goes so well with your normal flavors like fruit or chocolate.

All of these cakes would be great for a family reunion, Christmas party, or even to keep at home for your own family. It’s not like we need a reason to bake cake and share it with people, but Christmas seems like the perfect time to do it if there was one!

My Top 6 Favorite Christmas Cakes

Christmas Cake #1: Chocolate Orange Cake

Have you had a chocolate orange before? My Chocolate Orange Cake is a play off of that sweet Christmas treat. I used my go-to chocolate cake recipe for this one and added some orange zest to give a hint of orange flavor. However, it’s my chocolate orange buttercream that really makes this cake stand out!

Christmas Cake #2: White Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Cake

My White Chocolate Peppermint Pretzel Cake is inspired by the seasonal treat sold at Costco. Who else loves this sweet and salty mix and wishes it was sold all year round?? This recipe makes such a tender white cake, so pay extra special attention to the layers in your last few minutes of baking!

Christmas Cake #3: Pistachio Cranberry Cake

I love the idea of adding pink to your red and green Christmas colors. That’s actually how I got the idea for my Pistachio Cranberry Cake! I’m so happy with how this cake turned out. It’s such an elegant looking cake that really embraces the Christmas spirit with its colors and flavors.

Christmas Cake #4: Eggnog Cake

If you are someone who has to drink eggnog every Christmas, you will love my Eggnog Cake! I put actual eggnog into the cake, along with some delicious spices that complement the eggnog flavor so well! One that really shines is cinnamon with my cinnamon ganache between each cake layer.

Christmas Cake #5: Gingerbread Latte Cake

I got the idea for this Gingerbread Latte Cake from one of my favorite cookies, the molasses cookie. Of course I had to create a cake based off one of my favorite cookies! The latte buttercream adds such an extreme flavor that will leave you smiling. I don’t actually drink coffee, but I love the flavor in baked goods!

Christmas Cake #6: Chocolate Peppermint Cake

My Chocolate Peppermint Cake is almost the same thing as my pretzel cake I listed in this post! It just doesn’t have the pretzel. I still wanted to include this cake because peppermint is such a classic Christmas flavor, and the decoration for this cake just sings Christmas!

  1. All of these cakes sound incredible! Do you have a link to the chocolate orange cake? I tried the one you posted and it wasn’t there. I’d love to try that one!

  2. I love your recipes and visiting your website, however, this past year you’ve got so many advertisements on your site, it’s getting frantic to look at. I understand you get paid for each one, but it has so many “active” ads your eyes get tired because all the ads are covering up your actual webpage and things are moving all over the place. Thanks.

    1. Thanks for the feedback!
